Less screen.
More you.
The time you would have lost, spent on you instead.
Budleday is an iPhone app of screen-free moments: small, real things to do away from your phone, and a private place to keep how they felt.
Coming soon to iPhone.
An evening can disappear into a phone without you noticing. Budleday helps you keep a little of it for yourself.
How it works
Three small steps into real life
The one that matters happens away from the screen.
Pick an activity
Choose something that suits the time you've got. Some you can start right now, and some are worth planning for.
Take your time
Start the timer, put the phone down, and go do the thing. Budleday keeps quiet count while you're away.
Keep the moment
How you felt, a photo if you took one, a few words if you want them.
What’s inside
What would feel good right now?
Four kinds of moments, depending on what you need from your day.
Active
Move at whatever pace feels good today.
Mindful
Slow right down for a little while.
Creative
Make a start on something of your own.
Connection
Share a bit of your day with someone.
From a barefoot walk by the water to a game night with friends, and more to come.
Your journal
Keep the moments
Every moment ends with a reflection: how you felt, a photo, a few words if you want them. Over time they add up to something worth looking back on, the hours that were yours.
Your reflections are private to you. They stay on your iPhone, and they’re yours to export or delete whenever you like.
The story
About Budleday
Budleday takes its name from Budle Bay, a beautifully peaceful stretch of the Northumberland coast, which I have been fortunate to be able to visit every summer since I was a young girl. It’s a place which takes you away from everyday life and allows you to appreciate just being there. That feeling is what this app is for.
I created Budleday for when you want to put your phone down and do something else with your time. Something meaningful. Something relaxing. Something rewarding. Something memorable.
Inside the app, you’ll find screen-free activities in Active, Creative, Connection and Mindful categories, with ideas for different moods and moments.
For me, activities like sketching and watercolours have become hobbies I love coming back to. Budleday is a place to find things you might enjoy too, whether you try something once or discover a new favourite.
You can use your phone to take a photo or write a reflection, but the important part happens without your phone. Your journal gives you somewhere to keep those moments and look back at the time you spent doing things that mattered to you.
Less screen. More you.
